The room was dirty and quite rundown, with water damage on the bathroom door. The hair dryer didn't work because the bathroom outlet was malfunctioning. On the first night, the hotel lost power for 7 hours. The room smelled musty, and upon further inspection, we found black mold in the AC vents. We were told there was no other room available to switch to, but we could get a discount; however, they needed to confirm with the manager. The manager, Malea Chapman, said no discount, but suddenly, a new room became available. I asked to inspect the new room to ensure there was no mold in the AC; the manager claimed the unit had been recently maintained, yet I found mold on that AC unit as well. The manager was rude, asking if I wanted to leave early, and when I requested a partial refund for the previous night due to mold exposure, she offered only a 15% discount. Eventually, she agreed to a 20% discount for the previous night and a full refund for the current night, but insisted I leave the room immediately. There was zero customer service. She also told me I needed to contact Expedia for my refund and began walking away, refusing to look at the mold, claiming her employee had already shown her the pictures I sent. The Expedia representative was also unhelpful when I explained the situation, seeming in a rush to end the call. Both the hotel and Expedia handled the situation poorly. I’m only giving this a 2-star review because the front desk staff was friendly.
