Castaway is a great place to stay at Cocos

Cocos Castaway was recommended to us by friends and it didn't disappoint. We booked an oceanfront bungalow with two bedrooms for our family of 3 adults. Our bungalow is Balinese inspired with lots of timber, thatch look ceiling, and tropical flower artwork. It's lovely and so well setup with lots of extras like washing machine (in the large bathroom) and washing powder, pegs, basket, and drying rack supplied. There are clothes lines as well on the side of the building but we didn't use them because we had a lot of rain showers. There was soap supplied but you would need to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, body wash as needed. They supply bath towels and beach towels and large umbrellas. It is literally right across the road from the airport (and the club and Salty's cafe) so on arrival we were greeted by Annelies and walked across to our bungalow. The kitchen is also very well setup with plenty of extras like coffee plunger, esky, water container, thermos, frozen cooler blocks and ice trays. They supply a litre of milk in the fridge and tea,coffee,sugar,salt and pepper, and cooking oil. There's a microwave, two burner hot plate, a large electric frypan, kettle and toaster. The back verandah had table chairs and hammock and a lovely view of the ocean. Aircon was great for taking out the humidity, beds are comfortable and plenty of hangars supplied. Thanks Annelies for looking after us so well, we loved Castaway.

Coco's 2020

Our stay at Coco's castaway was magical. Very centrally located to all night life and restaurants. Room was immaculate with everything you need. Annalise and Graham were superb host's/owners and made you feel special. Dieter, booking, looked after us and is also the dive master. Gardens and beach side with turtles galore playing in the the surf. Scooter hire was simple with a very relaxed attitude to pick up and return, through Castaway. You feel like a part of the island family when you stay here. Have already provisionally booked for next year, just waiting on work approval.6 out of 5 stars.

Excellent for island living

Location was walkable to airport,bar,restaurants,supermarket and tourist information office. Car rental availability with the owner. BBQ area on site. All cabins are the ocean side of the road. Everything you need for self sufficient living on this magical castaway island. Highly recommended Note: Internet plans are purchased at Tourist Office and then accessed via Hot Spots. The one in Castaway worked perfectly so easy to sit on veranda whilst checking your emails

Lovely place to stay at and would highly recommend

I just spent 10 nights at Castaways for a kitesurfing holiday. I would highly recommend staying there. I stayed in a superior studio that could sleep 3 guests. The room was quite spacious, aircon, washing machine, large fridge and kitchenette with everything you could thing of. ie, eskie, picnic hamper. I loved the large veranda with a hammock, which was very relaxing after a long day of kitesurfing. The location is very central, the grocery store, bar and eateries were literally a stone throw away. And on the other side you were right by the ocean. They have some table & chairs setup under a fig tree, which was very peaceful of a morning watching the turtles feeding along the shore. Annelies and Graham were excellent hosts and helped anyway they could. Graham's a keen kitesurfer too, which was very handy in sharing knowledge of where to go and what to look out for. While I was there, I had some kitesurfing lessons from April who runs the F-One kite school. She was a very good instructor and would highly recommend her for lessons. I had a such a good kitesurfing holiday, I'll be back for next season. :)

Castaways close to beach , with view

well suited for our needs . ie fishing Annelise was a fantastic Host , and Dieter set it all up so easily. Cocos folk were all extremely accommodating in making us feel we were at home , to the extent we were treated as locals - just magic ! David O Dowd provided well with transport around West Island (Cocos Car Hire) Other excursions provided were well done We will probably return in a couple of years time Cheers, William & Sue Batchelor

Perfect getaway

The Cocos Castaway was the perfect accommodation for my getaway. Right next to the ocean, clean, with everything you could possibly need. Excellent if you want to prepare meals in the villa (frying pan, tongs, toaster, microwave, etc. provided). All of the essentials in town (bar, restaurants, community centre) are less than a minute walk. Graham and Annelies are brilliant hosts, very helpful. Would highly recommend.

Great location, really comfortable, has everything

Really enjoyed my stay. Bed was really comfortable. The room has everything you need and there is plenty of space. Great location right on the beach.

We loved our stay at Cocos Castaways, the location is perfect, across the road from all the towns amenities, pub, cafe, tourist booking office, supermarket around the corner.....the rooms are very clean, well maintained and very private. Also beachfront to enjoy great sunsets and hear the constant waves from the ocean. It's not really a swimming beach and you will be best to gire a car for any day trips, especially if travelling with kids like us! Annalise and Graham the owners live next door & are always not far away if you have any queries about your roommate or the islands....really lovely couple. Great value.....thanks for helping making our holiday excellent. Simon, Benita & Chad.

Great spot to stay on a beautiful island

Accommodation was perfect, well situated with friendly hosts. The ability to use bikes was great to get around the island and go exploring. Would recommend to anyone.
