We had a really nice one bedroom flat here. The Knight Residence is a very well managed apartment hotel only ten minutes walk from the Royal Mile and the Edinburgh Castle. The apartment was very well equipped - all the necessary kitchenware (including grill oven and microwave), two flat-screen TV sets, a blue-ray player, cd/radio player (which you could listen to the bathroom as well!), hairdryer, clothes iron, etc. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and we really felt welcome here. The welcome food-basket with breakfast items was really nice, too! Our son slept in the livingroom sofa bed, which was comfortable enough. The sofa and comfy chair in the living room were maybe the most comfortable we had seen in any hotel, and in a city with a lots of stairs and steep hills you really welcome the opportunity to relax comfortably... The same can be said about the bedroom double bed. All the windows were double glazed, which kept the street noise well outside the apartment. The only complaint we could mention is, then, on the noise that came through the apartment door from the corridor. The housekeeping staff made quite a lot of noise there every morning, which made it difficult to sleep if you wanted to have a lazy morning like you often would on a holiday. Anyway, we would certainly book this accommodation again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
