”The Railroad House in McCloud, CA was really great. The hosts were very nice, the home was a wonderland of train memorabilia, the breakfast was fantastic. They even made a birthday card and special breakfast for my son on his day. If you are visiting the area, especially with children that like trains, check out the Railroad House B&B.”

”Very cute and comfy house. We did not cook a meal at the house except for making coffee and toast. Centrally located and short walks or drives to nearby restaurants and shopping. Near great views of Mount Shasta.”

”The things that are good about this house/property are absolutely amazing. Perfect for both adults and children. Literally my only problem was with the check in and check out time, but more the check out time. 10am check out is very early to get four adults and six kids packed up to leave on time. The owner was very nice and responsive. Just wish that the check in/check out times were set with large families in mind. Other than this, it was great!”

”First time staying and we enjoyed it. It's an older place but kept up well. Rooms are spacious and include a living room area, which was nice. Staff were all great. Breakfast (included) was a mixed berry waffle, hard boiled egg and fresh fruit. Certainly enough to tide us over for the morning! Also, there is a wine reception at 5. Lots of things not really mentioned on the website, but delightful. On the negative side. The flow of water in (#7) the shower is painfully low and you...

”Quiet”

”Everything and everyone was great except that it was noisier than I expected. The carbon monoxide alarm went off after 9pm when the office staff was already gone for the day. I could hear one of the people in the neighboring room speaking. And, the train whistle blew loudly at 4 am; I had the windows open so the carbon monoxide alarm would not sound again. ”

”Other than the breakfast costing extra ($16 per day) everything was great. Free parking, right off the Sac River, close to I5, cold AC. ”

”Very friendly and efficient staff. Easy and convenient. Older motel (not fancy) but very well kept and clean. Definitely worth a stop on the drive to Oregon. Walked to delicious burgers at Yaks and to scenic Hedge Falls. ”
