”Hostel was well-kept and the bathrooms and kitchen were always clean. The lockers in dorms could be bigger, I would’ve liked more space to lock things up. 6 bed dorm felt too small and crowded with everyone’s bags and suitcases on the floor. It was ok for a short stay but I wouldn’t choose it again. The hostel is good option if you want to be seaside, it’s only steps away from the beach. Just know that without car you need to be catching buses or Ubers to go anywhere in San Diego, it’s not...

”The only comparison I have is the HI location at New Orleans. The beds at SF are packed closer together than N.O. And there are no privacy curtains at SF. So when you have no privacy curtains and beds packed close together it can feel like you have a lot less privacy . The bathrooms at N.O. Are large and super clean with the toilet and shower in the same room . At SF the showers are small and seperated from the toilets so you have to make 2 trips . Location is Great , staff are very helpful ”

”I had issues (twice...) with the codes not working when trying to enter my room which made me feel unsafe especially when this happened midnight. Reception is not open after 10pm so I received help via Whatsapp and staff was helpful. Other things that lower my rating were the metal beds that made a lot of noise. Also the whole floor only had 2 showers working. I have never had to wait to shower in hostel before. I wish toilets had more hooks to put towels/clothes in and rooms had mirrors....
