”I saw a lot of negative reviews and was pleasantly surprised at how erroneous they were. Everything was clean and orderly. The desk clerk was polite, albeit a little deficient in English and clearly overworked. The cleaning staff was top-notch. The bed was clean and comfortable with plenty of pillows. ”Historic, but updated and well-maintained property. Great restaurant with excellent breakfast. Appreciated the added touch of providing the history of the facility and surrounding area. Lovely lakefront site with seating around the property to enjoy the view. The only slight minus was that my room in the southwind building was right next to the road, but very little traffic at night, so not a big issue. Would probably select a different room next time.”

”The hotel is tastefully decorated, the staff is very accommodating and congenial, and the rooms are comfortable. The only negative is the lack of daily housekeeping; you have to ask the front desk to empty the trash, etc. We stayed for 1 week and it seems the rooms are only cleaned and refreshed when the room is vacated.”

”It was disappointing, I will never stay with them again! Room wasn’t vacuumed or dusted, bathroom had pupil hairs on toilet seat, floor and walls in bathroom were disgusting. Pubic hairs on the bed sheet! Wrappers under bed! Hallway floors were not vacuumed and the door to go into the place has not been cleaned in awhile!
